Wow! So I'm in Washington DC right now, and I'm really tired so this is going to be pretty quick. Last night was a crazy, crazy night. We had one last family dinner with cousins, and aunts, and uncles, and grandparents. Then Olive came over (love you Olive) to say goodbye one last time. She stayed for like an hour, because both of us are really bad at saying goodbye. It was a great time though, and I'm really going to miss everyone.
Also, that just reminded me! Thursday, my friends threw me a surprise party, and it was absolutely perfect. I was honestly sooo surprised, and ridiculously happy. When I walked into Olive's house and everyone popped out, I like physically jumped back and said "Oh my gosh" about a million times. All of my favorite people were there and honestly it was so perfect, and I'm glad I got some sort of closure. I talked with all my close friends. We had a ginormous water balloon fight, ate food, and said our last goodbyes (and hugged a lot). And my friends made the sweetest video of my life. It was just so perfect and it made me so happy I can't even express it.
Okay, anyway... back to the point. Last night was crazy as I was saying. After all the people left, at like 10:30, my cousin Kinsey helped me finish packing (Yes I'm a procrastinator... oops.) I finally finished at around Midnight, and then we went and got slurpees and watched Taylor Swift music videos. Then she went home around 1:30 (saying goodbye was a sad time), and I went to sleep, only to wake up at 3:00 for my flight. Mom and dad took me to the airport, and I felt kinda numb the whole way. Not excited or nervous or sad. Then I saw Mikaela and Brittney sitting at the airport waiting for me at freaking 4 in the morning. I mean I kinda have the bestest friends in the entire world. Grandma and Megan met us a couple minutes later. I checked my baggage and then all of us went to the TSA place (or whatever it's called) and just talked and hugged. I delayed saying goodbye as much as possible. All too soon, it was time for me to leave, and all the hugs happened.
I had never been on a flight alone, and security was a little awkward. The whole flight to San Fransisco I was a little antsy, but still pretty numb. I was nervous because my layover was only like 25 minutes. It turned out to be fine, because our flight landed early, and it turns out another lady was in the same predicament, so we walked to the gate together and everything turned out fine. I slept on the flight to DC, which was like 4 hours. I felt bad though, because I kept fidgeting and stuff, so I felt like I was really annoying the poor guy next to me and the girl in front of me. That flight felt ridiculously slow, and I just wanted to freaking get there. We did eventually get there, and my baggage got there and everything was great. I found Evi and the other CBYXers just fine, and then we had to wait there at the airport for like another hour for everyone else to arrive. But it was fine, because I just talked to all the other CBYXers and kinda got to know them. After a while though I was kinda just anxious to get to the hotel. The hotel was like an hour away, and we finally got there at like 6:30 and then ate pizza at 7 and had a meeting/ get to know you thing/ germany quiz.
Tomorrow we're going to meet our Senators and Representatives (!!) so that'll be really fun. Then in the afternoon we're going to the Smithsonian. But anywho, it's like really late, and I've had a long day so I'll update tomorrow.
